Misconceptions on Weight and Mass in Daily Lives

In daily lives, many people say that mass and weight are the same. , "for example, there is a student in the teacher's question this way: how much weight are you?. the student replied that my weight was 60 kg. Based on students' responses, this indicates mistake on the concept of gravity and mass. and students should answer is 600 N. for their respective ideologies please continue reading my blog
To be able to understand easily, you have to analyze it first. Remember you what is the difference between the mass of the weight of the object? The mass of an object is the number of particles contained in the object. The mass of the object is fixed, meaning that not influenced by gravity. While the weight of the object expressed the force of gravity acting on the object. Because the weight is a force then the weight of the object can be measured using a spring balance.

So, the mass of the same magnitude in any mass measurements performed, while the weight of the object changes depending on the location. This is due to the acceleration of gravity is not the same in each place, depending on the distance from the center of the earth. Heavy objects in the polar regions will be greater than the weight of the object at the equator. This is due to the polar distance closer to the center of the earth than the equator. Thus, the weight of an object changes depending on the location of the center of the earth. Every object on earth has weight. Heavy objects can be defined mathematically as follows.

Description:
m: mass of object (kg)

g : acceleration of gravity (m/s2)
w : weight (N)

The conclusion is not the same weight and mass. Mass is the amount of a substance contained in an object. Unit of mass in the SI system of units is the kilogram, while weight is the force experienced by the object a result the gravitational force on the object. and unit weight is Newton.
Mass and weight have different units, mass has units of kilograms, while weight has units of Newton. The main difference between mass and weight is that mass does not depend on where the object is located, while the weight depending on where the object is located. So weight varies according to the place.

we can predict a person's weight when he was on the moon and calculating the moon's gravity. then we can know that our weight can change with different places,,.
may be enough explanation of my hopefully useful. :)

  3. so the conclusion of weigh n mass is mass has units of kilograms, while weight has units of Newton. right? and Mass is the amount of a substance contained in an object and weight is the force experienced by the object a result the gravitational force on the object
